Glenmorangie Bacalta

The Glenmorangie Distillery presented its latest Private Edition earlier tonight. Glenmorangie Bacalta is Scots Gaelic for ‘baked’ and the first Glenmorangie expression finished in Malmsey Madeira casks.  It is inspired by the Glenmorangie Madeira finish created 20 years ago.


Glenmorangie Bacalta was finished in heavily toasted American oak casks, seasoned with Malmsey wine, a sweet Madeira wine. Before that it matured in ex-bourbon barrels. How long? We don't know and they won't tell us.
