The distillery carries the same name as the small town nearby.

The distillery is located on the eastern outskirts of the town Aberfeldy. John and Tommy Dewar built the distillery in 1896 to produce malt for their White Label blended whisky. Bacardi bought John Dewar & Sons in 1998 from Diageo. The brand is now part of the Last Great Malts of Scotland.

The Aberfeldy core range consists of a 12, 16 and 21-year-old single malt.
