Pronounciation: ahburLOWER.

The distillery is located near the river Lour in a town with the same name. James Fleming founded the distillery in 1879. A fire almost completely destroyed the distilllery in 1898 and the architect Charles Doig redesigned the new facilities. Aberlour is now part of the brand Chivas Brothers and is owned by the Pernod Ricard since 2001.

The Aberlour core range consists of a 10, 12, 16 and 18 year old single malt and a NAS cask strength whisky matured in oloroso casks named a'bunadh.
