Abhainn Dearg Distillery

Pronounciation: aveen JARrek. The Gaelic name means Red River.

The distillery is located in Uig on the island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. Abhainn Dearg was founded in 2008 by Mark "Marko" Tayburn and is the first one since 1840. A part of the distillery is a converted old fish farm.

The Abhain Dearg core range consists of a spirit matured in sherry casks called The Spirit of Lewis and a 3 year old single malt. The goal is to offer a 10 year old single malt in 2018.
