News
Duvel Barrel Aged
A few months ago my favourite beer brand announced they would bottle a barrel aged Duvel. The beer matured for six months in 100 ex-bourbon casks from Four Roses and Buffalo Trace. The ABV rose from 8.5% ABV to 11.5% ABV. 24.000 bottles will be put on sale. The first online batch on Thursday sold out in the blink of an eye. Some supermarkets will have it in stock as of 26 June. (I secured 2 of them so I'll keep you posted on it).Source: Duvel.com

The future of Gartbreck Distillery remains uncertain
It doesn't look like Glann Ar Mor's Jean Donnay will lay the first stone of his Islay distillery any time soon. It appears he and Hunter Laing are disputing a strip of land adjoining the Gartbreck site. To be continued for sure...

Rumours
The Macallan Classic Cut
A label for a new NAS Macallan turned up in the ubiquitous Public Colas Registry. The Macallan Classic Cut will be the Cask Strength's successor. The whisky matured in seasoned Oloroso casks. Seasoned is the marketing speak to say that the cask was never really used to mature sherry but specially commissioned casks by the whisky industry.Source: A Tasty Dram Tumblr
