Angels' Nectar Rich Peat Edition

A Tasty Dram Whisky Blog tasting notes

Angels' Nectar  Rich Peat Edition is only the second expression from Highfern Ltd. The brand is inspired by the Angels' share, also known as the whisky that evaporates from the cask.

This blended malt has been constructed with Highland malts only. That means no Islay whiskies are involved. Island whiskies remain to be seen. Some sources catalogue the Islands under the Highland region... Although I'm putting my money on a substantial portion of young peaty Ardmore. But that's mere speculation on the contents of this Angels' Nectar  Rich Peat Edition.

Angels' Nectar First Edition

Angels' Nectar is a range of blended malts inspired by the famous 2% of whisky that goes to the angels. Or the guy that does the quality checks in a warehouse ... But that's just me thinking out loud.
Anyway, Angels' Nectar First Edition is a blended malt composed of whiskies from the Speyside and Highland regions.

Catching up on Friday (16 June 2017)

After a busy week, I'll try to get you up to speed in less than two minutes on the latest whisky news, rumours and interesting blog posts from the past week.

Douglas Laing’s Consortium of Cards #2 Ben Nevis 1997

The chaps at Douglas Laing presented the second instalment in their Consortium of Cards series. After a rather stellar ’Queen of the Hebrides’ Laphroaig 1998, they bottled a Ben Nevis from 1997 and baptised it fittingly the ‘King of the Hill’.

Highland Park Valkyrie

Highland Park Valkyrie is the latest single malt coming from Orkney. The whisky - that will gradually replace Dark Origins - is the first in a new trilogy named Viking Legends. In the next few years, the trilogy will be expanded with two other whiskies: Valknut and Valhalla. The series is inspired by the death and afterlife. Valkyries were a host of female riders who chose fallen warriors and bring them to the hall of the slain in the afterlife - Valhalla  - where they are prepared for Ragnarök, the final battle of the Gods.
