At the start of the summer Douglas McGibbon gave its Clan Denny range a thorough facelift. The old packaging had become dated, and no longer did justice to the old and sometimes rare whiskies inside. It was also an opportune time to relaunch the brand, as the Douglas McGibbon company turns 70.

The Elements of Islay bottlings are a series of small batch whisky expressions bottled by Specialty Drinks (closely related to The Whisky Exchange). The bottles are a wink to the apothecary bottles of old and the labels are inspired by Mendeleev's Periodic Table.

Wemyss Malts is familiar name when it comes to excellent single casks and blended malts. The owners of the Kingsbarns Distillery has been releasing annually some good to superb blended malts. Their newest feat - The Wemyss Family Collection - will focus on one specific influence that impacts a whisky. This can be a regional aspect or the use of different casks.
